We must also care about global justice and consider how the people of our planet will choose to cope with the worsening conditions they will inevitably experience. If we plan to adapt, there must be justice and compassion for all. Otherwise, won’t we have global chaos and destruction of civilization?
I agree, Nancy. Dr Hayhoe is a climate scientist who is focused on helping the faith community in the Bible belt where she lives make the connections for themselves. For many people climate change still seems like a remote problem that won’t have any impact on them and their loved ones, and human nature being what it is, aren’t moved to action – yet.
